Black Sheep Meats was founded in 2022 by husband and wife, Matt and Desiree, who had a passion for providing a high-quality farm to table experience to their community. Situated from their shop on their property in Ponoka, Alberta, they have grown into a successful business serving the central Alberta area.
Having 15 plus years experience within the meat cutting business, including 12 years sausage making and smokehouse management, Matt couldn't wait to one day open up his own shop. Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Matt moved to Vancouver Island, BC where he was able to build upon his sausage and smokehouse skills. After meeting his wife, Desiree, the desire to start up their own business and have something to pass down to their growing family strengthened. Eventually moving back to Alberta, settling in Ponoka, they were finally able to realize the dream.
